Comcast is taking a hard look at how to reorganize its $39 billion entertainment unit. The moves come as Comcast president Michael Cavanagh looks for ways to reposition the company and reduce losses at streamer Peacock, after losing NBCU CEO Jeff Shell and ad chief Linda Yaccarino.
Cavanagh, who replaced Shell on an interim basis in May, is streamlining his direct reports. A source said he currently has 18 people briefing him on the company’s daily progress. A new structure would see that reduced to just six, although the discussions are still in flux, according to this person.
